I am gutted to have to say this, but things are still a bit slow on the training front at the moment. Tis the season to be sickly and Penni has had a nasty cold, which David then got, as did my colleague Rachel and so between them all, I didn’t stand a chance and I got it too! I am a bit annoyed because it is my first cold in 4 years (and fair play, it is a stinker) but I had forgotten quite how pesky they are! Anyway, I have been thinking a lot about the mammoth task we have set ourselves! Perhaps a little more than I would normally because I have been feeling very guilty about the lack of training I have done. It is never good to think of things this way because all that will happen is I will get myself into a state and things will seem so much worse! Between the worry and the cold and the MS hug, things have not been fun and to top it all off, we moved house a fortnight ago! So, all in all, with one thing and another, it has all been go on planet JoJo!
There have been a number of exciting things on the fundraising front happening! A local folk dancing company have offered to do a charity demonstration and barn dance for us to which we can sell tickets and raise a tone of cash, the only thing at the moment is we are having a bit of trouble finding a suitable venue! (If you have any ideas, please let us know!!) We have collected some fantastic raffle prizes and if we ever find somewhere to hold the dance, we will sell tickets before this and draw it on the night! We have also had some donations from corporate and community sponsors, but we still need LOADS more! If you can, please visit www.justgiving.com/joandpenni and spread the word! We don’t mind where the money comes from – we just need as much as we can get!!!
Christmas is coming and so is 2009, meaning that the time for New Year resolutions is nearing too! I think it is obvious what mine will have to be! I am hoping that David will help me keep it this year. He has asked Santa to bring him a bike this year and so when Penni moves back to Birmingham in the New Year. I think this year, as I have been a very good girl, I will ask Father Christmas for good health, good weather and some lights for my bike! If I am very lucky, he may also bring me some padded shorts but I don’t want to ask for too much as I am a big girl now!
So, until the next time – take great care all,
Loadsa love, Jx
Have a very merry Christmas & a happy and prosperous New Year!
